historically, no not really. horses were used for war & transport before cars, 2 things men were most often involved with. a woman riding a horse was considered indecent or too masculine for a long time. "horse girls" are a surprisingly recent thing. they're the equivalent of guys who love muscle cars

I'm looking forward to this series, but ngl that lack of realism regarding horses and horseriding in this first episode was a little off-putting... a first-time rider cantering will be on their arse in no time at all... and pulling someone up behind you on the horse... 😂

yeah, i get the MC is OP and people can pull swords outta their arses in anime... spirits are a common theme as well. But this is SPORTS anime... you'd think creators would have bothered to research horse riding... just saying 🤷‍♀️

there are two types of sports in anime
shounen sports and non fiction sports

I guess you could be a natural at horse-back riding but you are right!! I rode horses when I was younger and the canter was really fun and easy but the trot was painful until you learned how to ride and that comes with practice. Well, you have to count it as anime logic, lol!! I will most likely watch the whole series as I love horses anyway!!

calling it "anime logic" is a cop-out. The skateboard anime last year had the main guy spend 3-4 episodes learning to skate, same with Welcome to the Ballroom. The writer is using the sport as setting more than for the sport itself, that's what ticks me wrong and takes me out of the immersion.

Yeah, but even riding naturals will need to learn the basics. I think anyone who has ever ridden before and is watching this would be tempted to roll their eyes a little. Cos I have patience with anime logic will continue watching... it's just... I dunno... I guess a little sad for me actually
